Overview

Enjoy views of Tennessee and North Carolina while hiking through the cool, breezy spruce-fir ecosystem. The midway point is a stone shelter at Double Spring Gap, used by Appalachian Trail thru-hikers.

This is an out-and-back trip in a temperate rainforest, so we prepare for dramatic weather changes, and the return requires substantial climbing.
