Overview

Learn why moonshine was not only a cat-and-mouse adrenaline rush between maker and the feds, but a way for families in a poor mountain community to buy school books and feed their children. Points of interest most locals don’t even know about.

We climb from 1,200 to 5,046 feet with multiple photography stops, visit the dedication spot of the National Park, then end at Sugarlands Distilling Company, where you can enjoy a taste of the moonshine that provided a way of life years ago.
